Regular readers will be aware that IP Draughts is closely involved with a 5-day course that is run at University College London, entitled Intellectual Property Transactions: Law and Practice. The course is taught by approximately 25 experienced lawyers, most of them IP specialists, including Professor Sir Robin Jacob. It has now been run for 2 years, and a date has been fixed for running it again next year (20-24 April 2015).
Last Autumn, IP Draughts’ firm won a Law Society Excellence Award (highly commended) in the training and development category, essentially for establishing this course – see discussion on this blog here. The green logo on the right of the screen (if you are reading this online) relates to that award.
Yesterday, we were delighted to learn that the course has won another award, this time from UCL. The course has won a Provost’s Teaching Award, and IP Draughts will be collecting the award at a ceremony at UCL on 9 June.
IP Draughts is really pleased to get both of these awards, and thanks all the speakers for making the course as good as it is. One of our overseas students (a practising lawyer from South America) commented to us earlier this year that she had researched courses internationally and this was the only course of its kind she could find, which may account for the number of overseas students who have attended the course in its first two years.
