Mark is looking forward to visiting Ljubljana (the capital of EU member-state Slovenia; not to be confused with Lubyanka – travel department please note) for the next outing of ASTP’s course, Fundamentals of Technology Transfer, between 14th and 16th September 2011. This course is run every 6 months, alternating between Leuven and another European location. So far, we have managed to visit Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Venice, Vienna and several other interesting cities. The attendees are mostly technology transfer managers from European universities.
Details of some of the other courses we are involved with appear on the Anderson & Company website here.
Mark is looking forward to learning, rather than teaching, at the WIPO 2-day course on mediation, in Geneva on 30th and 31st May. He has already been sent his homework for the course, which includes reading a 354 page book, Beyond Winning: Negotiating to Create Value in Deals and Disputes, by Mnookin, Peppet and Tulumello. Professor Mnookin is Director of the Harvard Negotiation Research Project. If the course is anything like WIPO’s two-day course on arbitration, which Mark attended a couple of years ago, it will be very good.
Finally on courses, we should mention the European Patent Academy‘s two-day course, Building and Defending IP Value, to be held in Berlin on 17th and 18th May. The course includes a half-day module on IP licensing, written by Mark, which Stephen will be presenting.
